Match Preview: Chelsea vs Burnley

Kick Off 3:00pm

Team News

Chelsea

Pedro was sent off against Arsenal in the Community Shield but he will not face any further suspension.
Victor Moses is banned after he was sent off in last season’s FA Cup final.
Tiemoue Bakayoko isn’t expected to make his debut for Chelsea until the end of the month as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
Alvaro Morata isn’t fit enough but may be thrown in for his full debut after Michy Batshuayi struggled to asert himself against Arsenal.
With Eden Hazard still recovering from a broken ankle, Willian and Pedro should both be safe to start.
Burnley

New Burnley signings Charlie Taylor and Phil Bardsley may have to settle for the bench on Saturday. Jonathan Walters and Jack Cork should, however, both make their full debuts for Burnley.
The away side have not signed a replacement for Michael Keane, which should mean James Tarkowski partners Ben Mee at the back.

Prediction

Chelsea have endured a difficult summer and even threw away a 1-0 lead against Arsenal to lose the Community Shield on Sunday.
However, the reigning Premier League champions have the formidable recent record on the opening weekend of a new Premier League campaign. In fact, they have the best record since August 2007, winning 9 of their 11 matches since then.
Antonio Conte’s side welcome a Burnley side that only managed to win seven points away from home all season last term and the home side should have enough to start their title defence with three points.
