Video: Watch the moment Justin Gatland stunned Usain Bolt to win 100m World Championship gold at #London2017

All eyes were on Usain Bolt in the 100m final at London 207 – but there was to be no dream finale.

The Jamaican could only come third at the World Championships as controversial American sprinter Justin Gatlin celebrated a shock 100m final victory.

The race was the last of Bolt’s incredible individual career, with the 4x100m relay to come next weekend.

US compatriot Christian Coleman won the silver medal, while Bolt ended up with a bronze in a thrilling race.

Despite his victory, Gatlin was booed by the London crowd due to his past indiscretions as they prayed for one final Bolt victory.

After the race, Bolt said: “The start is killing me. Normally I get better though rounds.

“It felt like it was there and the reason I lost was because i could’t get it.

“You have to transition. I didn’t get the transition right and tightened at the end which you should never do.

“I didn’t execute when it mattered.

“These aren’t the best blocks. I was not fully comfortable with them.

“But you have to work with what you have.”
